THE TEAM of SAI Training Centre (STC), New Delhi, dominated the junior category on the inaugural day of the inter-region SAI boxing championship being organised at SAI Regional Centre, Bishenkheri.
In the junior category, STC New Delhi registered three wins. Bhopal team registered only one win in 54-kg section. Praveen Kurre defeated Varun Kumar of Kashipur. Sandeep of New Delhi defeated Manish of Kashipur in the 48-kg category. In the 51-kg, Ashok Soora of New Delhi defeated Vivek Kalasia of the same team.
In the senior section, New Delhi boys failed to maintain the winning ways of the junior team. Kashipur team that was struggling in the junior section dominated the senior category.
Kashipur registered two wins in the senior category. Vipin Kumar of Kahipur defeated Ratnesh Singh of Jabalpur, and Vikrant of Kashipur ousted Nand Kumar of Bhopal. Bhopal team struggled in this section and failed to open account on the first day. Final rounds will be organised on Friday from 3 pm.
