Delhi has emerged as the most preferred destination for overseas travellers to India, says a study by an online accommodation booking website.
According to the latest Hotel Price Index (HPI) report by Hotels.com, metro cities dominate the top 10 favourite Indian destinations list among international travellers. Mumbai follows Delhi at number two.
Goa, the famous beach destination of India, is the third most favourite on the list, which is followed by Bengaluru, Chennai, Jaipur, Agra, Hyderabad, Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram.
Hotels.com is a leading online accommodation booking website with almost more than 1.5 lakh properties around the world, ranging from international
chains and all-inclusive resorts.
The report also reveals that Indians prefer South-East Asian destinations while travelling abroad. According to the report, the great value rates available in Bangkok
make it the most preferred international destination among Indian tourists.
Singapore is ranked at number two while Dubai is placed third. Thai beach resort of Pattaya is fourth, Hong Kong fifth and Phuket and Kuala Lumpur are on seventh and ninth place, respectively.
The Big Apple is eighth on the priority list of Indian travellers while the casino capital, Las Vegas, is at 10th place on the list.
With a surprise elimination of Switzerland, London was the sole representative from Europe at the sixth place.
