The decision was taken keeping in mind the interest of the commuters at a high-level meeting chaired by Dikshit, a statement issued from the CM's office said.

"This offer has been made by the Delhi Government as the concerns of the citizens are of paramount importance and commuters should not be forced to suffer due to some differences of opinion between the state governments," it said.

Expressing hope that the issue would be resolved soon, the statement said in case the meeting between the officials failed, steps would be taken to organise the meeting at ministerial level.
