Delhi coach Madan Lal on Thursday played down the 'threat by goons' and asserted that his team was better prepared to win their opening North Zone Ranji one-dayer against Jammu and Kashmir at the Feroze Shah Kotla ground on Friday.
Lal brushed aside reports of an omitted player using manpower to disrupt the team's practice session couple of days ago and said the team members were in their best frame of mind to take a shot at the title.
"There is no problem as such. All these are just exaggerated stories," he said.
Delhi would like to make amends to their woeful performance in the Ranji Elite championship while Mithun Manhas, who replaced Amit Bhandari as captain, will look to start his leadership role on a successful note.
Meanwhile. Jammu and Kashmir had their own problems to sort out.
The team's arrival, a day before the match, was delayed by about three hours.
