Delhi students held for snatching in Faridabad

Three chain snatchers of Delhi, including a student of Delhi University, who had created havoc for the working women of Faridabad, finally landed in police net on Sunday.

Three chain snatchers of Delhi, including a student of Delhi University, who had created havoc for the working women of Faridabad, finally landed in police net on Sunday.

The trio, produced before the court on Monday, was remanded to two day's police custody. Police said they confessed their involvement in executing seven cases of chain snatching in Faridabad during the recent past. The three chain snatchers were taking money from a reputed finance company against the snatched chains to live a lavish lifestyle.

The cops of Crime Investigating Agency (CIA) of Sector 48 Faridabad, based on a specific tip off, started patrolling in Palla area near Badarpur border on Sunday evening. "We sighted three youth coming on a motorcycle, who fled when we asked them to stop," said Madan Singh, in-charge, CIA.

Singh added, "We followed them and managed to nab all of them." They have been identified as Gaurav alias Pintoo, a commerce student of in Delhi University, Ankur, a Class 12 student, and Manoj, a Class 10 student. All the three were living in Modebandh in Delhi.

"They confessed that they used to take cash against the snatched gold chains from Muthoot Finance branches in Faridabad, Okhla and Lalpat Nagar," Singh said, adding, "We will recover the snatched gold chains from the finance company and ask all the victims to identify their chains."
