Delhi youth feared drowned in river Ganga

A 23-year-old youth from New Delhi was feared drowned in the river Ganga while trying to save his elder brother at Laxman Jhoola area in Rishikesh, police said in Dehradun today.

A 23-year-old youth from New Delhi was feared drowned in the river Ganga while trying to save his elder brother at Laxman Jhoola area in Rishikesh, police said in Dehradun on Wednesday.

A group of eight youths was taking bath at Sant Seva ghat of Rishikesh last evening when suddenly Ankur (25) started drowning. Hearing his cries, Rahul rushed to help him and managed to save his brother. However, he himself could not swim to safety, they said.

Police have launched a search operation to trace Rahul, a resident of Burari area in New Delhi.
