Adelectable dish at Rs100 seems like a treat, possible only in the good ol’ days. Hence, to resurrect the glorious past and celebrate 100 years of Delhi, Hindustan Times is organising Delhi 100 Food Festival from November 24 to December 31, where the city’s celebrated cuisines and popular dishes over the years will be served at Rs100 each.
The participating restaurants include 50 restaurants of the city that have created a special dish each, either in main course or starter or dessert.
Giving a sneak peak of what’s going to be on the table, chef Tarun Kapoor of Chutney Bar+Tandoor, The Metropolitan Hotel, says, “This is the only food festival where most of the city restaurants are dedicating their special dishes to Delhi, so, we have also created something special. We’ll serve Tandoori Pankh with corn palak seekh and we will present it in a special way.”
Rajesh Kumar, general manager, Moti Mahal, Malcha Marg, says, “It’s a great idea to celebrate 100 years of Delhi with a food festival. We are participating with one of our best selling desserts, Pista Kulfi, and have reduced the price from Rs150 to Rs100.”
What’s more? At all these participating restaurants, there’s a whole range of scrumptious dishes to indulge in. So roll up your sleeves and gear up to dig into delicacies such as Rara Gosht, Mutton Rogan Josh with Karrara Lacchha parantha, Jodhpuri Palak paratha and Keema Kulche. The fest in fact offers something to titillate every palate with offerings such as Mozzarella pizza, Thai curry with steamed rice, Kaffir lime, raspberry gateaux and more. So, game for a mouthful?
