THE NOTIFICATION for new wards of Nagar Nigam has been issued by the district magistrate but resentment is brewing among some outgoing corporators .

Corporator Kamlesh Singh, who had raised several points over the exercises conducted by the Nagar Nigam in completion of delimitation of wards said that Section 32 of the Nagar Nigam Act was widely violated by the NN.
He alleged that the NN had no population record locality-wise. Several localities had not been divided on the ground of main roads.
The delimitation of localities situated between MG Marg and Jawahar Lal Nehru Road carried out by the NN was illegal, nor was the population of wards divided equally as directed by the State Government .
Singh has drawn the attention of the Secretary, Urban Development and Housing and others to the fact that the Allahabad Nagar Nigam was not following the Allahabad High Court order in delimiting the wards.
Singh objected to the delimitation done by the NN in Allahpur, Dariyabad, Alopibagh and Tagore Town.
The objections filed by him at the time of the delimitation were not disposed of and apparently arbitrary decision was taken by the NN to please certain leaders, he alleged.
Shiv Sewak Singh and Mohammed Muslim, both outgoing corporators, alleged that the HC directives were not adhered to by the NN authorities while carrying out delimitation of wards in the city.

{{/usCountry}}They said considering the population of the city, at least 90 wards should have been created in place of 80 wards. The NN completed the delimitation on the basis of its rapid census while the court had directed to carry out the exercise on the basis of Census 2001, the official census.
