Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark was voted the most romantic man in an online poll conducted by Hello magazine, thrashing out Hollywood bigwigs like Russell Crowe and Tom Cruise.
Prince Fredrik moved his bride Princess Mary to tears at their wedding reception when he told her "the happiness and strength you give me is like the afternoon sun, its rays driving darkness and doubt deep into the ground".
Gladiator star Russell Crowe couldn't compete, came in second place with 17 per cent. "Every now and then there's just a look on her face - when she's talking to me, and I want her to look at me like that all the time," he said when asked about his feelings for wife Danielle.
Not far behind at third place was Kurt Russell, who said of his long-time partner Goldie Hawn: "It's been 22 years and I still feel the same way about her as I did an hour after we met."
Andre Agassi came in fourth as he talked about his love Steffi Graf. "Words have yet to be invented that are large enough, colourful enough, or true enough to express the heart and soul of this woman," he declared.
Tom Cruise notched the fifth spot with his public display of love and affection for his fiancee Katie Holmes.
