If Deepika Govind and WIFW debutante Gayatri Khanna planted seeds of a green conscience among viewers with their apparel line titled Conference of the Birds:

Concert of the Sea and Jewels of the Forest respectively, Nitin Bal Chauhan highlighted the plight “of craftsmen and dying crafts” of Himachal Pradesh. Leaving fashion’s goody-goody image aside, the day witnessed a potpourri of bold, funky and intriguing styles on offer.

Here’s a looking at a few designers who charmed with their creativity:

Varun Sardana: He brought out a collection inspired by the eccentricities of people around him. Sardana’s story of an imaginary town and its people was translated on to the ramp in shape of dresses, and menswear that married many elements.

Thumbs-up to: His show-stopping argyle and grid pattern creations.

Fightercock by Abhishek Gupta & Nandita Basu:

Titled ‘A Cock and Bull Story,’ the collection was chic and bold, packing in just enough attitude to give the illusion of high-street fashion. Tees embellished with golden foil print, funky leggings and dresses with exaggerated polka dots reinforced Fightercock’s image as a youth culture brand.
