Filmmaker Dev Benegal, in association with Hungama Mobile, announced his new film production programme: 24 x 7 Making Movies. 100 films will be produced every year under the venture.
“The idea is that you have to conceive, shoot, edit and submit the film to us in 24 hours,” says Benegal. “The duration of the film can vary from 24 seconds to 24 minutes with the basic requirements of a story and a background score.
It has to be original, you need to have something to say. We’re fairly open to your interpretation of the theme given.” This year’s theme is Laughter & Terror.
A weeklong workshop, will help in making the film to the best of your abilities and capabilities. And it’s free of cost, though the deadline is April 15. The project carries a top prize worth Rs 30 lakh.
“All the films will get a proper release, with worldwide distribution and screenings,” informed Neeraj Roy of Hungama Mobile.
