Devdas is considered as the best ever production by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to have hit the box office. The film is heart winning with the lead roles played by the beauty pair - Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit - and the irresistible Shah Rukh Khan!
Devdas is Bhansali's third good production after Khamoshi and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Of the three, Devdas stands unique not for picking up on a different genre, but for reviving an old theme to the taste of today's audience. It is a love tragedy, with Devdas (Shah Rukh Khan) as the unfortunate lover and Paro (Aishwarya Rai) as his beloved.
The tragedy comes out best when London returned Devdas fails to marry his childhood love - Paro. This disappointment leads him to an independent journey where he meets Chandramukhi at a brothel. Even though Devdas gives in to Chandramukhi he still fails to forget Paro and it is this struggle to be with Paro that is depicted throughout in Devdas.
