Apparently, the DD management has acted on the advice of an astrologer that if the team occupies the visitors’ dressing room, it will bring them good luck. “We were having a tough time in the league. Our astrologer had advised us to take the left-side dressing room because the right one has a wrong ‘disha’ (direction). We have requested DDCA (Delhi and District Cricket Association) to switch the dressing rooms,” a team official told HT.

“It is about how comfortable you feel. It is all about being in a zone,” said Sunil Walson, DD manager.

Whether the move will work will be known when DD take on the Rajasthan Royals in their first home match on Sunday.

The Daredevils aren’t the only team to place faith in astrology. Chennai Super Kings consult astrologer Venkatesan Karthikeyan. During the 2013 season, Karthikeyan had advised CSK to place photographs of deities on specific walls and asked the team management to wear blue T-shirts during matches.
