DG health warns docs against absenteeism

Director General Medical and Health, Dr SS Srivastava has urged the doctors to remain present at the rural health centres. He said the doctors were expected to conduct their duty with full responsibility and dedication. The director general was presiding over the divisional review meeting at the Additional Director?s (Health) office, on Monday.

He said the doctors were expected to conduct their duty with full responsibility and dedication.

The director general was presiding over the divisional review meeting at the Additional Director’s (Health) office, on Monday.

Srivastava said emergency services of the rural health centres need to be improved. He directed the chief medical officers to take strict action against erring doctors. “The absence of doctors at the PHCs and CHCs will not be tolerated. These doctors will have to face strict disciplinary action,” he said.

Also present at the meeting were joint director Dr KK Tripathi, Chief Medical Officer (Allahabad) Dr Shantimal Singhavi, CMO Pratapgarh Dr Mahnot, Beli, hospital chief medical superintendent Dr RB Singh, Dr SJ Singh and other senior medical officers.

Meanwhile, a programme was organised by the district PMS Association to felicitate DG, Dr SS Srivastava. On the occasion, PMS district secretary, Dr Vikas Singh raised the demand of regular upkeep of ACRs of doctors and release of fund for improving basic facilities at the peripheral health centres.

“All the government facility should be provided to the disabled doctors, who are in the service. They should be transferred on the basis of choices filled by them,” he added.

Dr Srivastava also assured the association for the release of funds. He said the National Health Rural Mission would be soon implemented.

Also present on the occasion were Dr Shantimal Singhavi, Dr Sujit Singh, Dr Arun Kumar and Dr Meenu Sagar.
