Within a week of its release, actor Dhanush's laugh riot ThiruvilaiyaadalAarambham has dethroned Vasantha Balan's Veyyil, from the top position.
The top five Tamil films are:
1. Thiruvilaiyaadal Aarambham
Director: Bhoopathy Pandian. After a string of flops, Dhanush finally has a hit - a long-awaited one. The actor can heave a sigh of relief now. He deserves kudos for his spirited performance.
2. Veyyil
Director: Vasantha Balan. The most striking feature of the film is actor Pasupathy. With critics raving about the film, many expected it to be a blockbuster and it surely is a hit.
3. Rendu
Director: Sundar C. The film continues its amazing run at the box office.
4. Nenjirukkum Varai
Director: S.A. Chandrasekhar. Narain's performance is the highlight of the film. It is doing reasonably well at the box office.
5. Silappadhikaram
Director: Karu Palaniyappan. Though not a blockbuster like Thimiru, Vishal has a hit in Silappadhikaram.
