Dharam refuses to resign

Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh on Friday asserted that he would not resign and decide on the next course of action in consultation with party leaders.

Talking to newsmen immediately after the assembly was adjourned sine die without the trust vote taking place, he said that he was not given an opportunity to move the motion of confidence by the Speaker.

Asked whether he would go to the Raj Bhavan, he retorted "Why should I".

Governor TN Chaturvedi is to take a decision on who will be invited to form the government in the state by Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Chaturvedi has spoken to Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court Cyriac Joseph for leagal consultation with regard to the ongoing crisis.

The Governor held a two-hour midnight meeting with JD(Secular) and BJP MLAs at the Raj Bhavan on Friday.
