The saffron brigade alleged that non-Christian students were forced to offer a prayer at a traditional prayer function, known as Rector’s Day. The Sena activists, led by Yogesh Agrawal, rang up the district education officer (DEO), civil authorities and police officials who reached the school in no time. On the complaint of the Sena, the DEO and a SDM will inquire into the issue and submit a report in 3 to 4 days.

According to school principal Father George, the institute holds traditional Rector or Principal Day function for decades before the annual sports function. He said

the function is held in the 135-year-old near the Cathedral for decades as there is no open space. On this day, the Principal is honoured, he said, adding that the function wasn’t a religious one.

He said they would register a complaint against the school management after the authorities concerned submit report.
