Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh received minor head injuries on Tuesday when party workers forced to get entry into the collectorate here to present a memorandum on their demands.
Singh was immediately rushed to the district hospital for first-aid treatment even as the injured included at least 10 party workers and Congress MLA from Khilcipur, Priyawrat Singh.
Following the stone throwing allegedly by Congress workers, police resorted to lathi-charge and bursting of tear gas shells, eyewitnesses said, but the Rajgarh collector, Shivanand Dubey insisted that no such action had been taken.
He however confirmed that Singh had got injuries and had been taken to the district hospital for treatment.
Earlier, Singh had addressed a ‘dharna´ and public meeting in protest against the unscheduled power cuts in the district.
