Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh and his arch political rival Uma Bharati used cricketing jargon on Monday to claim victory in state elections.
Speaking to reporters shortly after voting in his home constituency of Raghogarh in Guna district, Singh said: "I will take a hat trick.
"I took the wicket in 1993 and again in 1998. I have already bowled a googly and the wicket will fall on December 4 (the day the votes are counted)."
Congress party leader Singh cast his vote at 11 a.m., accompanied by his family and cheering supporters.
Bharati retorted to Singh's prediction of victory by saying: "How will he take a hat trick when we are going to win this time?"
The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) chief ministerial candidate cast her vote from Tikamgarh district. Bharati reached the polling centre at around 11 a.m.
