AICC GENERAL secretary Digvijay Singh today cautioned Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan against any untoward incident at Bhojshala on Basant Panchami, saying if any damage is caused to the structure, the CM would be fully responsible for it.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, the Congress leader expressed concern over security of Bhojshala.

“This is an Archeological Survey of India (ASI)-protected structure and if it came to harm any way on Basant Panchami, the Chief Minister would be wholly responsible”, he said.

Singh drew Shivraj’s attention towards efforts of saffron outfits to mobilise Hindus to Bhojshala that day. He also alleged that amidst mounting pressure on the administration, the Chief Minister transferred both the district Collector and SP of Dhar for reasons best known to him.

Basant Panchami this year is falling on Friday. While the Hindus offer prayer to Goddess Saraswati at Bhojshala that day, Muslim would offer Friday’s special namaz. In view of the tension in the recent past, security of Bhojshala has been tightened with deployment of additional forces to prevent any untoward incident on Basant Panchami this time round.
