Diversion of trains on Dec 17

ROUTE OF many trains will be diverted on December 17, due to the construction of the foot-over bridge being carried out at Chheoki railway station under Allahabad division.

Shaktinagar-Chunar-Allahabad passenger (No 633) will terminate at Mirzapur station and from there it will return to Shaktinagar. Besides, Chunar-Allahabad passenger train 1/2 will be cancelled on that day but will run on the subsequent day.

Meanwhile Bareilly-Mughalsarai passenger train (4307/4308) will terminate at Allahabad Junction and will not move to Mughalsarai. During return journey, the train will move to Bareilly via Allahabad.

Besides, some of the trains will also run late due to this construction work.

Mahanagri (1094) will run late by 70 minutes, Lalquila Express (3111) by 45 minutes, Jodhpur-Howrah Express (2308) by 60 minutes and Nilanchal Express (2816) by 15 minutes, informed chief PRO, NCR, B P Pandey, on Friday.

Ex-gen secy expelled from AUCKU membership

MEMBERS OF Allahabad University and Colleges Karamchari Union (AUCKU) on Friday in an emergency meeting on Friday expelled the union's former general secretary and an employee of Allahabad Degree College Alok Mishra from the union for 10 years.

AUCKU president Kanan Das Gupta informed that the decision of the union follows a recent incident of misbehaviour of Alok Mishra. He alleged that Mishra had had misbehaved with the office bearers of the union and even damaged their vehicles on December 12.

He also claimed that Mishra had been indulging in such activities for the past few months. “Alok Mishra had apologised in writing for his behaviour with former ADC principal and employees at the Kydganj police station in the past. However as he has failed to rectify his conduct, the union has expelled him for 10 years,” said Kanan.

Foundation stone: The foundation stone of Women’s Sports College and International level cricket stadium will be laid by the UP Sports and Youth Welfare Minister R K Chaudhry at Andwa Jhusi here on December 29, informed Vijay Kumar, the Regional Sports Officer. Both would be constructed with an estimated cost of around Rs 40.45 crore on 47 acre land.

The minister inspected the place here today and said the construction work would begin soon by the Jal Nigam Construction Unit. He directed the unit to develop two sides road at Kanihar and Anadwa. Several sports officers and working agency engineers were present during the inspection. Besides an international level cricket stadium and swimming pool, astroturf hockey field, athletics track, multinational hall, women hostel, academic college, volleyball, basketball , lawn tennis and multi gym would be constructed at Jhusi, informed the minister.
