The ban on the entry of trucks and construction machines in DLF colonies has completely stopped work on residential projects in DLF Phase II.
The DLF authorities have cited a court order that stayed any new construction activity in DLF Phase II on a writ filed by the DLF City Residents’ Welfare Association. “We have to comply with the stay orders that the RWA has got. We cannot allow new construction by a developer in DLF Phase II. We will not allow their trucks inside our colony," said Shalini Wadhawa, the spokesperson for DLF.
Last week, a clash nearly broke out between the security guards of DLF and MGF when the former stopped trucks carrying building material at the entry gates of DLF Phase II. Police intervention saved the day.
Among the projects hit by the ban is Amaar MGF, a residential project on 13 acres of land next to Oakwood Estate in DLF Phase II. The land belongs to Shakuntala Yadav of village Sehraul, Gurgaon. "I was shocked to learn that DLF guards had stopped the trucks carrying building material to our site and other machines. DLF has assumed the role of a parallel government. Six months ago, DLF guards had stopped construction at the same site. When the director of the Town and country planning (DTCP) has issued us a license for a housing project and when we have paid all the development charges to the government, how can the DLF stop us?" said Yadav.
Baljit Singh of Amaar MGF said the DTCP has clearly asked the DLF authorities to remove barricades from their roads. "We have approached the police for the intervention," he added.

{{/usCountry}}However, Gurgaon SSP Hanif Qureshi said, "It is a matter for the to town and country planning department to solve."
District town planner (enforcement) Gurmeet Kaur also contended that the DLF had no right to stop trucks from entering their colony. "The roads belong to everyone. I have already asked the DLF authorities to keep their entry gates open. If they don’t, I will get these removed," Kaur added.
Sudhir Kapoor, the president of the DLF City RWA, said the association had moved court against any new construction by any developer in DLF Phase II to reduce the pressure on the civic infrastructure of the colony.
