Incidentally, the neighbour is Rita Chowdhry, mother of Miss India Universe 2009 Ekta Chowdhry.

Rita got to know about the matter after officials of the town and country planning department visited her in April.

"I came to know that a fake id had been created in my name. DTP officials also showed me a copy of the email," Rita told HT.

Following this, Rita filed a complaint with the cyber crime cell. She also approached police commissioner KK Sindhu on April 26 to probe the incident.

The cyber crime cell wrote to Google to provide the IP address of the computer on which the email ID was created. The police got to know that the ID had been created on March 23.

After investigating the matter for three months, the police zeroed in on accused Sandeep Singh Bhatia.

When the police approached Bhatia, he feigned ignorance and claimed that his minor son had written the email.

The police asked Bhatia to produce age proof of his minor son. However, he produced an affidavit of his son's age on June 9, whereas the police had demanded his school certificate.

A case was finally registered against Bhatia at the DLF City Phase 2 police station on Monday.

He has been booked under Section 66C of the IT Act-2000.

Cyber crime cell inspector Suresh Singh, said, "Bhatia told us that his son had created the fake account of Rita Chowdhry."

Meanwhile, the boy Vivek (name changed) told HT, "I haven't created any fake ID."

Inspector Jagdish Prasad, SHO of DLF Phase 2, said, "We'll find the culprit soon."
