DMs to be pulled up for suicides, says Maya

Mayawati asks the district authorities to ensure that no one commited suicide due to economic reasons.

Taking serious note of the suicides committed by the poor in some parts of the state, UP Chief Minister Mayawati on Wednesday said that district magistrates would be held responsible in case any such deaths were reported from their areas.

A strategy would be evolved to avoid recurrence of such incidents in the future, she said, according to an official release in Lucknow.
