The Uttar Pradesh government has directed all the district magistrates to chalk out an action plan for a possible drought like situation in the state, a senior official said here today.

"There is a possibility of drought in case of short rainfall during monsoon, therefore, all the DMs have been
asked to chalk out an action plan beforehand," Principal Secretary and Relief Commissioner K K Sinha said.
He said that the DMs have been asked to make proper arrangements for irrigation, drinking water and to check
spread of diseases.
"The DMs have also been asked to hold meetings of advisory committees and prepare a drought management plan,"
Sinha said.
