Do this, Mr Modi: what HT readers want from new PM
HT asked readers what was the first issue they wanted their new Prime Minister to address and received overwhelming response. Women's security, external affairs and education are among the issues that people feel very strongly about.
As Narendra Modi takes up the responsibility of being the Prime Minister of the country, the country's eyes and hopes are firmly on the BJP strongman who won the mandate of the nation with a massive margin.
HT asked readers what was the first issue they wanted their new Prime Minister to address and received overwhelming response. Women's security, external affairs and education are among the issues that people feel very strongly about.
"Free education for every child, with mandatory health and hygiene classes." tweeted a user @Dipalie. Another user @joni_colaco tweeted, "A woman's right to travel freely in the night without the fear of getting raped."
Corruption and black money, two issues that are said to have played a defining role in these elections, also figured prominently in the feedback HT got from Twitter users.
"I want PM to bring all the black money which belongs to India back in to Indian Economy which will surely eradicate poverty." tweeted @AshuShenoy.
"I want my PM to pull out corruption from its very roots and throw it out...so that we prosper in true and equal manner" tweeted @AnupamaGupta07.
