On the other hand the ongoing strike by junior doctors has completely paralysed medical services bringing untold miseries to patients, particularly the serious ones.

The emergency and OPD services were rendered completely non-functional due to senior doctors extending support to the strike.

No operations were performed during the past four days. Though junior doctors held a meeting in the afternoon, they were not ready to come out openly with their next course of action as the next step would depend on developments and decisions taken by their counterparts in Lucknow.

The fallout of the strike by junior doctors has forced the patients of Children’s Hospital and SRN Hospital to shift to nursing homes despite the fact that they would have to shell out money beyond their reach.

However, doctors contradicted this saying serious patients were not being asked to go back. Though PMS doctors have been asked to take charge of the situation but without patients in the hospital they were wondering if they would be of any help.
