Sinha assured the doctors that action would be taken against policemen who attacked the doctors and urged them not to go on strike on humanitarian grounds.

Later, talking to mediapersons, Sinha said government had already suspended four GRP constables and divisional commissioner Moradabad had been directed to investigate into the incident. Police had already taken eight people into custody, said Sinha.

The doctors demanded that services of the policemen at fault be terminated and they be debarred from government services and lodged in prison. Sinha said 45 police recruits who attacked the doctors had been identified on the basis of the attendance sheet of the training centre. He told the doctors that for action against the police personnel at fault they should submit a list of doctors injured and the nature of their injury. The doctors injured have already lodged an FIR and on the basis of their report a second FIR will be lodged.

Doctors also demanded action against the Railway employees who remained mute spectators to the incident. The TTE did not check the ticket and allowed unauthorised persons to travel in the coach, they added.
