FOUR PATIENTS died following strike by the junior doctors on the second consecutive day here on Tuesday. One patient died at LLR Hospital while three others lost their lives at the Cardiology Institute.

However, the director of the Cardiology Institute Dr JL Sahani said that the institute was not affected by the strike and absence of junior doctors was not the cause behind patients’ death.
One patient, Ankit Maurya, who attempted to commit suicide by shooting himself with his father’s license revolver, was admitted to the LLR Hospital on January 15. He succumbed to his injuries today for lack of proper treatment.
Meanwhile, the junior docs strike at GSVM Medical College entered the second day today in protest against attack on medicos at Moradabad, on January 15.
Due to strike, the OPD and Emergency services remained suspended at all the five hospitals associated with the Medical College including LLR, Chest , Infectious Disease, Upper India Chamber Hospitals and the Pediatric Department.
Meanwhile, students burnt effigies of the Chief Minister, the Union Minister for Railways and the PTS jawans in front of the LLR Hospital and also raised anti-police slogans. Students also boycotted classes to press their demand. They also demanded suspension and arrest of the PTS jawans who attacked the junior doctors.
