Yet another life was crushed on the roads of Delhi.
This time by an army vehicle. A 32-year old doctor died and her husband was critically injured after being hit by a speeding Army vehicle on Thursday morning.
Only a week ago an unidentified vehicle had killed a 64-year old doctor in Alaknanda in south Delhi.
The deceased has been identified as Dr Harsha Vavani Munshi. Her husband Dr Mihir Munshi (36) is battling for his life at the ICU in Sir Gangaram Hospital.
The incident took place at around 7.30 am on Thursday when the couple was on their way to their clinic on Kasturba Gandhi Road.
A speeding army jeep (03B085 4343L) jumped the traffic signal at the Man Singh Road and hit the car, which had the couple inside.
The impact was so great that after being hit the car revolved and was tossed in the air. The car somersaulted and went upside down.
Dr Harsha died on the spot. Mihir was rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital from where he was shifted to Sir Gangaram Hospital.
The driver of the jeep Naik Vijay Kumar (33) has been arrested. Police said that a court martial would be done on the accused.

{{/usCountry}}After the incident the accused tried to run away from the spot and hid inside one of the makeshift toilets on Rajpath. He was arrested late when the locals informed the police.
The deceased was working as a senior consultant of radiology at Diwan Chand Imaging Institute on KG Marg for the past four years. Mihir is also working as senior consultant at the same institute.
They were living at S-12 Green Park extension.
"Their's was a love marriage. A bright future has been crushed," said a colleague at the Diwan Chand Imaging institute.
The victim's family who were on a vacation was informed about the accident and they reached the city late on Thursday evening.
The victim's relatives who were present at Sir Ganagaram Hospital were in a trauma and refused to comment
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered with the police.
"We have arrested the driver and a case has been registered," said Anand Mohan, deputy commissioner of police (New Delhi).
