Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his council of ministers on Thursday and asked them to “not get rattled” by the Opposition’s onslaught, alleging it was building a “campaign on falsehood” against the Centre.
Modi asked his ministers to “feel upbeat” about what the government was doing. NDA ministers will fan out across the country from January to “expose” the Opposition’s “stalling tactics” in Parliament.
The general view at the meeting was that as the winter session is about to end on December 23, it was time the government concentrated on “exposing” the Opposition outside Parliament.

Modi asked his Cabinet colleagues to take up the “challenge” of taking the message about the government’s functioning to people through better connect with them.
A detailed plan will be chalked out later, but the ministers have been asked to start visiting constituencies from the second week of January and spend at least 30 hours in areas assigned to them.
It was also decided that each minister would undertake a tour of two parliamentary constituencies to apprise people of the decisions taken by the Modi government in the interest of the common man since it came to power in 2014.

The winter session of Parliament has seen daily adjournments forced by the Congress and other Opposition parties on issues such as alleged atrocities against Dalits and CBI searches in the office of the principal secretary to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The government had a heavy legislative agenda for the winter session including the Goods and Services Tax bill.
There is a feeling in the government that the session, which ends on December 23, could be a washout.
The monsoon session of parliament had also been a washout over the Congress demand for resignation of three BJP leaders.
BJP leaders have accused the Congress of not respecting the verdict of the people and holding the country’s development hostage to its political interests.
