"LTTE is a terror outfit and a banned organisation ...But the ethnic and humanitarian issues will have to be dealt with by the government and the Tamil population cannot be discriminated against", party's Media department chairman M Veerappa Moily told reporters.
He said one cannot mix the issue of terror with the humanitarian one.
At the same time, he asked the island nation to hand over LTTE chief Prabhakaran to India once he is caught. His comments came at a time when the Sri Lankan troops were closing in on LTTE's last bastion Mullaitivu.
