Warning the separatist-friendly political parties like Congress and National Conference(NC) not to take the nationalists for granted, BJP candidate for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda constituency Jitendra Singh on Monday said the Doda area especially the Kastigarh belt has stood like a rock even in the worst years of militancy.

Addressing public meetings in Doda area, Singh said that the area has been turned into a political tourist resort where politicians of different hues come to deliver platitudes on the eve of elections only.
People, who swear by India, have a right to lead a dignified life in India, said Singh and added, those who swear by Pakistan would no longer be allowed to browbeat and throw their weight around.
He accused the coalition ruling parties, in the state, of resorting to anti-India jargon from time to time in a bid to consolidate secessionist vote bank.
Singh said, the Narendra Modi government will do everything possible to boost the morale of peace loving patriots and take a departure from the appeasement policy followed by the Congress party and NC.
“It is ironic that the Congress-NC coalition is always worried about jobs and settlement of so called former militants, while educated youth are either unemployed or employed for a meager `3,000 per month,” observed Singh.
Appealing to the people to not to vote for the parties and leaders responsible for Kishtwar riots against minorities and for multi-crore scams like the Roshni scam and Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association scam, Singh said a vote for “Kamal”(lotus flower) was indeed a vote for India.
Singh said the union health minister had made a farcical and impractical announcement about opening up of a new medical college in Doda but failed to set up dispensaries in the rural areas of erstwhile Doda district.
