The audience – mostly children from various schools, parents and star guests were all up on their feet when Khan made a surprisingly mellow entry towards the final segment of the show.

While second runner up Mumbai’s Sameer Mohmad couldn’t control his enthusiasm, rushing out from backstage to greet Khan, Diwakar’s father, Sunil Sharma, termed it a dream come true. “Diwakar may not be able to see you, but he has grown up hearing you. Sharing the stage with you is equivalent to winning the prize for him,” he said.

Sanchita Bhattacharya’s moment of glory with Don uncle came, when he gave her the winner’s trophy marking the end of the four-month-old contest.

The L’il Champs finale was a roller coaster with over a crore votes polled for the final episode. Incidentally, Sanchita had been trailing all along.

Sameer led the count till 12 pm on Friday night, from where Diwakar took over by Satur day morning. It was only in the penultimate moments that the votes swung in favour of Sanchita, who won with 45,23,312 lakh votes.
