Presently, the Board staff is busy giving final shape to the forthcoming examinations to maintain its sanctity. All claims made by the State Government as well Board authorities to conduct fair examination in year 2005 proved to hollow following report of large-scale copying in every part of the State.

Board has, thus, planned to issue identity cards for invigilators for the 2006 examinations but whether the order would be carried out successfully this year is being doubted. Some Board officers, on condition of anonymity, told HT that it would not be possible to ensure complete distribution of I cards since the time left for the exercise was not enough.

Additional Secretary Faizurrahman said the Board had made all attempts to distribute I cards timely though some technical snag was likely to crop up.

Sources said there was urgent need to amend the Board rules and I cards must be issued to invigilators. It may be mentioned that the Board had resolved to release I cards to check invigilators’ role in copying at the examination centres.
