Persistent drizzle and a plate of doughnuts have left Anastasia Myskina hoping that her fourth round match against Mary Pierce will be called off by US Open officials, the Russian said on Monday.
Rain caused havoc with the order of play on day eight of the $17.1 million grand slam and seventh seed Myskina gave reporters an insight into life in the players' lounge during such delays.
"It's kind of hard," she smiled, before adding that she had polished off a plateful of doughnuts while waiting to hear if her match would go ahead.
"There's not any more upstairs now because I ate all of them," she teased. "That's the last one.
"I wanted something sweet because the weather is not sweet."
Whether is was the weather or the effects of the doughnuts was not clear, but Myskina wasn't looking forward to taking to the court on a cold and blustery afternoon.
"I was thinking I don't want to play today for sure...but whatever's gonna happen is gonna happen.
"I'm gonna do my best today -- I hope not, actually," she grinned.

{{/usCountry}}To keep her mind from the tennis, the 22-year-old has been playing cards with compatriot Elena Likhovtseva, although that may have done little for her self-esteem.
"It's called `stupid'," she said. "Who lost, they call `stupid'. We've actually been losing to Likhovtseva all the time.
"Then they call me stupid, but they cheat for sure ... I got to find out how."
