A MAN was killed when hit by a truck at Khajuri on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Also, a dozen persons were injured when a bus overturned at Piplani.
According to police, Triveni Malviya, 30, a resident of Tumda, was returning home on his motorcycle after midnight when a truck on way to Indore hit him. He fell on the road and came under the wheels of the truck. He died on the spot. The truck driver fled the spot. A case has been registered against him for negligent driving leading to death.
In another incident, a dozen persons including five women and a child were injured when a bus hit the road divider before getting overturned near Piplani petrol pump.
Police said the bus on way to Raisen hit the divider and a wheel came out of it causing it to turn turtle. The injured were rushed to Hamidia Hospital where they were undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, a labourer who had fallen off the tree succumbed to injuries today. Ram Prasad, 28, was cutting the branch of a tree near Bal Vihar when he fell off and got injured.
