DPI gets tough on teachers, principals

SHOWING NO leniency in its tough stand against schoolteachers and principals for negligence in duty, Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) suspended four teachers and served warning to nine principals in Vidisha district.

SHOWING NO leniency in its tough stand against schoolteachers and principals for negligence in duty, Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) suspended four teachers and served warning to nine principals in Vidisha district.

The report of inspection of schools in Vidisha district conducted on February 3 and 4 was finalized today by the DPI. A day’s salary for entire staff of two schools was deducted and eight other teachers also faced salary cut for negligence in duty.

Even District Education Officer of Vidisha has been asked to explain the attachment of a woman teacher of Vidisha Girls High School to his office. The DEO has been asked to relieve the teacher immediately.

The four teachers, who were suspended owing to long-term absence or taking far more leaves than due, include Madhvi Deora of Ganj Basoda School, Rajkumar Khatik of Nateran School, Raj Bahadur Gaur and T S Patel, both of Gyaraspur Excellence School.

The entire staff of Government High School, Hasua, faces a day’s salary cut as they were found to have left the school more than an hour before the due time.

The staff of Deo Khajuri School, who had not reached school even an hour after due time are also facing same action. Two increments of Principal of both the schools have been stopped.

Apart from this eight other teachers in various parts of the district face salary cut for remaining absent from duty without prior intimation.
