RELENTLESS EFFORTS for creating new concepts designed for socio-economic development of humanity can make the dream of peace and prosperity come true, Governor Dr Balram Jakhar said in Bhopal ob Monday.

The Governor was speaking at a function to honour the former adviser to the Government of Madhya Pradesh and former director general of the MP Council of Science and Technology (MAPCOST) Dr S N Dwivedi with SOFT Biennial Award 2005 of the Societies of Fisheries Technologists (India). Dr Dwivedi is also a scientist of repute in the field of fisheries.

The Governor expressed favour for all such innovative works that aimed at fulfilling the needs of underprivileged ones. The Governor said there is a vast potential for business opportunities in the field of fisheries in the State.

These opportunities could be turned into reality by constant discussions, researches and creative efforts. Talking about the blue revolution and its contribution to rural economy, he asked the scientists to give surety for better results with a complete scientific method.

Dr Jakhar assured him cooperation for his initiatives to establish a national-level academy of engineering, science, and technology for technical exchange in the State. P K Vijayan, secretary of SOST (I) welcomed the guests and chairman Dr K Devdasan spoke about the activities of the society.

Central Institute of Agriculture Engineering (CIAE) director S D Kulkarni and the advisor to the department of aquaculture and fisheries in Bhopal University TA Qureshi also addressed to the audience.
