Dravid leading the run getters' list

Dravid, who remained unbeaten on three occasions, has emerged as the top Test run getter in 2006.

Indian captain Rahul Dravid has emerged as the top Test run getter in 2006 with an aggregate of 807 runs from 8 matches since the start of the year so far.

Dravid has been in imperious form, scoring three hundreds and four half centuries at a superb average of 73.36. He is followed in the list of top run scorers by Australian skipper Ricky Ponting (802) and Younis Khan (669).

Dravid, whose highest score has been 146 not out against the West Indies in the second cricket Test at St Lucia, has been unbeaten on three occasions.

Virender Sehwag, who reconfirmed his return to form with 180 in the St. Lucia Test, is fourth in the chart. Wasim Jaffer is the third Indian in the top ten, his determined double century in the first Test in the Caribbean helping him move to the 10th place.

Sehwag has scored 646 runs, including the 254 against Pakistan at Faisalabad, at 53.83 in 13 innings while Jaffer has 506 runs from nine innings, with a best score of 212 at an average of 56.22.

The veteran has averaged 38.03 at a strike rate of 75.29.

Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan and Mkhaya Ntini of South Africa were ahead of him with 51 and 39 victims to their credit.
