DRDO, IAF signs agreement on CPSS

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Air Force (IAF) on Friday signed an agreement for production of computerised pilot selection system (CPSS).

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Air Force (IAF) on Friday signed an agreement for production of computerised pilot selection system (CPSS).

The embedded micro controller based CPSS having built-in security features captures accurate, reliable and high-speed data relating to the skills of candidates appearing for selection as pilot, a DRDO release said in Bangalore.

The state-of-the-art system, an outcome of collaborative efforts of DRDO and the IAF, comprehensively evaluates qualities required for a highly demanding job of a military pilot such as psychomotor skills, information processing skills (speed and accuracy), coordination, visualisation, time-sharing by subjecting the candidate to perform concurrent multiple tasks, the release said.
