Raids were conducted at suspected places to corner persons assisting the members of the fake certificate gang. The tehsil officials demolished about seven temporary shops located near the Sadar Tehsil and warned shopkeepers against setting up shop again.

Talking to the media, tehsildar Rajesh Shukla said the tehsil administration had recommended for the cancellation of shop licence of the accused Ashok Yadav.

He said it had been forwarded to the district magistrate for necessary action.

The impact of the drive was clearly visible in the tehsil complex where many persons had come to find out the authenticity of their certificates.

As there was a huge rush of candidates seeking certificates, some advocates pressurised tehsil officials to do their job on a priority basis.

However, an official refused to toe the line and this led to altercation between the advocates and the officials.

It was only after a senior tehsil official intervened that matters were resolved.
However, many said the involvement of officials posted at the collectorate could not be ruled out.
