From now on, these documents will not be delivered in person. The direction came after the Ghaziabad regional transport office issued a driving licence in the name of a terror suspect.

“We will ensure that the applicant also submits an envelope with requisite postal stamps along with the application for licence. After processing, the licence will be sent to the postal address by registered post and not delivered in person,” Ghaziabad RTO VK Singh said, confirming the instructions sent out by the commissioner.

Three officials at the Ghaziabad RTO were suspended after a driving licence was issued in the name of terror suspect Mohd Fasih on the basis of fake
certificates.

The licence was cancelled and an FIR was lodged at Kavi Nagar police station.
