A MEETING on measures to improve the functioning of the DRP Line in the entire zone was held at the Police Control Room on Monday. Presided over by IG Rajendra Kumar, the meeting discussed threadbare various functions of the DRP and it was decided that a draft of the salient points discussed would be made and forwarded to Bhopal for further consideration.
Recently at the Indore DRP Line when the alarm bell was sounded it was found that only 20 men turned up, even though there are 125 houses. Since most of the houses (around 80 per cent) are occupied by forces of the police station, and they do not consider themselves to be part of the DRP Line and did not turn up.
Now it has been proposed that all men, whether they work in the DRP Line or are posted at the police station, if present at the time the alarm is rung will have to turn up.
The two DIGs Vipin Maheshwari and V Madhu Kumar, Khargone SP Rakesh Gupta, two additional SPs of the City Manoj Shrivastava and Dharmendra Chaudhary and heads of various sections of DRP Lines from all over the zone were present.
