An inter-state drug peddler has been arrested at Indore on the charge of carrying 16 kg of charas valued at Rs 50 lakh in the international market.

Ratan Arya was apprehended by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at Chandan Nagar Square on January 21 when he was carrying the contraband to Nashik in neighbouring Maharashtra from Jammu in a car, NCB sources said on Saturday.

Sixteen kg of charas valued at Rs 50 lakh in the international market was recovered from his possession, they said.
Arya, booked under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, was yesterday produced in a local court which sent him in judicial custody, the sources said.
