DU plans job cell

Delhi University (DU) may establish a job placement cell and a multi-purpose counselling centre in view of the overwhelming response from multinational companies.

Dean Students Welfare, SK Vij said, “Although several colleges already have placement cells, a centralised cell will help a large number of students.” “The counselling centre will also guide students on issues like sexuality, gender and health issues like AIDS,” explained another official.

The centre will cater to students from all streams. In the past, several companies have approached Delhi University and placed requests for recruitment.
