THE THREE-DAY global congregation of Muslims, the annual Ijtima, concluded here today with prayers for world peace and brotherhood. More than 10 lakh people attended prayers on the last day of the Ijtima.
It was a unique sight as lakhs of hands went up seeking God’s blessings for world peace and brotherhood during the prayer, marking conclusion of Ijtima. Maulana Saeed Saheb of Tablighi Markaz, Delhi, led the ‘Dua’.
Following prayers, Jamaats started leaving for their respective destinations. In all, 900 Jamaats left from Ijtima including 189 jamaats from abroad.
Chairman of All India Muslim Tyohar Committee, Dr Ausaf Shahmiri Khurram, has expressed gratitude towards all the persons and institutions who extended their cooperation in successful holding of Ijtima.
One noteworthy point this year was that 11 students of EMS Academy of Journalism visited the Ijtima site on Sunday and attended the various proceedings of the day. They were quite impressed by the discipline and bonhomie atmosphere prevailing at the Ijtima site. “It is my first experience in life to see erudite Muslims gathered in such large numbers for the cause of their community”, a student exclaimed.
These students also had an exclusive audience with Maulana Ahmed Laat Saheb, a leading theologian from the Tablighi Jamaat headquarters. The Maulana advised the students to be always good to others, then the Almighty will do good to them in a much better way than their own act of goodness.

{{/usCountry}}The West Central Railways (WCR) counters remained opened for only two hours wherein only a few Jamaats could purchase tickets while thousands of people had to run to the Bhopal railway station to fetch tickets.
