The official, Gangadhar Reddy, who was a special Deputy Commissioner at Cuddapah in AP, his wife Umadevi and their daughter Meghna were travelling to Bangalore when their car collided with a lorry, killing the couple and the car driver, police said.

Meghna, who was seriously injured, has been hospitalised. In the other mishap seven members of family died at Adipalli in Kolar district when the car in which they were traveling collided with a truck. The family was returning from Bangalore to Dharmavaram when the mishap occurred, police said.
