Shopping portal eBay India has introduced a new shop on its website that sells some of the world’s top brands at prices that are affordable. The portal also sells brands that may not be easily available in India through this new shop call Global EasyBuy.
“The basic premise of starting this shop on our website was to be able to give the Indian online customer a global shopping experience with brands that are not easily available in the country,” says Kashyap Vadapalli, director (marketing), eBay India.
With brands such as Oakley, Armani, Victoria’s Secret, Juicy Couture and Marc Jacobs available for as less as 40 per cent of the price that one would have to pay for in stores, EasyBuy promises to give more value for money.
“The online platform in anycase is a great place for discounts as the brand does not have to pay for overheads such as rentals, electricity and interiors, giving them a chance to work on heavy discounts,” explains Vadapalli.
Apart from brands that are already available in India, the portal also sells well-known brands that have still not set up shop in the country. “A lot of interest has already been generated for the new service,” says Vadapalli, adding, “There are a lakh unique visitors on eBay everyday of which, about 20 per cent have been accessing and buying from EasyBuy.”
