The Election Commission on Monday barred Nagaland government from presenting the budget for the next fiscal year in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.

The assembly will present a vote-on-account during a four-day session beginning tomorrow.

Earlier, the state government had sought opinion of the EC on whether it could table an annual budget or vote-on-account in the wake of the general elections.
Election to lone parliamentary seat and by-polls in four assembly constituencies in Nagaland is scheduled on April 16.
